Day Camp on the Road!
Bay Shore’s Day Camp On The Road is where our ministry meets community. It’s where far-off camp adventures meet your local church. Day Camp On The Road takes the foundations of VBS and combines them with the best parts of camp ministry to help kids grow and develop into individuals with a heart for Jesus.
Why Day Camp On The Road?
After our first full summer of this program in 2021, the goals of Day Camp On The Road were firmly established: to bring the faith and adventure of camp ministry to communities around Michigan. It allows K-5th graders to experience the camping world in a familiar place before they are ready for the overnight, away-from-home setting that our Sebewaing campus provides. The partnership between BSC and the site churches introduces new faces to both church settings and recreational camping, bringing the ministries together under one banner. “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them” Matthew 18:20, NIV.
SUMMER ’25 THEME: Jesus IS
The “Jesus IS” Curriculum focuses on truths about Jesus from God’s promise of a Savior to Jesus’ promise to send the Holy Spirit.
Each Day will highlight a portion of this theme:
- JESUS IS THE PROMISE FULFILLED
- JESUS IS THE LORD
- JESUS IS THE RESCUER
- JESUS IS THE REDEEMER
- JESUS IS WITH ME

Our Team
We make it our goal to not only train our staff but also to see them thrive in their walks with Christ after summer comes to an end. Bay shore’s day camp teams are trained to be spiritually, mentally, and physically equipped to lead campers through our program.
All staff spend 2-3 weeks learning and developing schedules and activities to make Day Camp OTR a valuable experience for all campers in the K-5th grade age bracket.
Staff training is based on our mission statement, to “provide an invitation for people to experience Jesus Christ”. This is what drives our staff to continue learning and growing alongside the camper each day, week in and week out. They spend hours learning each area of our program: outdoor adventure & recreation, equipment management, worship & skits, and most importantly, Bible teaching.
