Connection!
Katie first came to Bay Shore Camp with her mom as a Teddy Bear camper. Teddy Bear Camp is three days and two nights of camp for the youngest of campers, while attending with a parent. She’s 15 years old now and has been attending camp ever since, now as a Worship Arts camper.
She is most thankful for the lifelong friends she met and for the cabin leaders and others who helped her grow in her faith. Growing up, Katie said they would attend church occasionally and Sunday School too, but she didn’t really understand her faith until she was attending Jr. Music camp. And one night, when it all made sense, she claimed her faith as her own.
Katie has a strong feeling of connection to God at Bay Shore and especially loves the strong feeling of the presence of God moving through the Tabernacle. The Tabernacle is where her “fire is relit” every year for God.
She says, “I’m a better person with Bay Shore being in my life because it’s taught me so much, and influences how I act.”
“Bay Shore is a magical place. So much can happen in the little time that you’re there. Experiencing it one time can change your life for the better. You grow your connection with God, and make friends that can last a lifetime and it’s just a great experience for someone to have.”
